An entrepreneur by heart – took a bold step in 2011 and founded Spacewood Office Solutions (SOS, a part of Spacewood Furnishers) to cater to the growing demand in the office furniture segment. As co-founder and Managing Director he has led SOS to make it one of the leading players in the office furniture segment in India.
A leader and innovator, Nitin is an engineer by qualification with over 34 years of industry experience, he started his career in 1986 as a Project Manager with Thermax Ltd. after completing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), Nagpur. His stints with Ispat Industries, Videocon VCR Ltd. and Blow Plast Ergonomics Ltd. (BPEL) helped him build his skills in material management, purchase, logistic and senior management roles. He lead BPEL as Vice President to make it a top supplier in the Indian furniture industry. Eventually, Nitin’s ingrained entrepreneurial spirit led him to shape Spacewood Furnishers – a 500+ Crores group and a leader in supplying modular furniture solutions for homes, where he continues to play a role as Director, and co-find SOS. As a self-sufficient innovator, Nitin is comfortable in any role from the executive boardroom to the shop floor. Over the years he has motivated and trained hundreds of people.
Nitin believes in helping employees to learn and evolve outside their defined professional tasks. He is an efficient negotiator with strong business development and relationship building skills. Clients appreciate his straight talk, often unconventional perspectives, and the depth of his “real world” executive experience. He is a firm believer in investing deeply in company culture to build an organization that lasts, and sharing lessons learned – the wins and the losses – to help employees to flourish. His ability to build high-performance teams has been the catalyst in making SOS one of the fastest-growing modular office furniture companies in India.
